Mike Alcorn, CTPC Newsletter Editor |
Last month you should have noticed a difference in the appearance of your CTPC Newsletter – it came in an envelope. Hopefully this meant that you received the whole thing. All to frequently in recent years we have been receiving reports of members receiving only the address page of their newsletter, or worse, not receiving it at all.
I’ve been editor for over 12 years and have been mailing the newsletter in the same manner all that time. Therefore, I can only conclude that it is the post office that is going to hell in a handbasket. [As an aside, my wife is active in several local non-profits. A couple of years ago she had occasion to mail 9”x12” envelopes to 25 people. It wasn’t a routine mailing so no one complained when they didn’t receive it. Some 2 months later my wife found 6 of the envelopes in the organization’s PO box – properly addressed and stamped – but never delivered with no notation of problems!
Since you can’t fight city hall, much less the post office, the club decided to start using envelopes.
Now if you don’t receive your newsletter you will need to ask yourself if you’ve actually paid your dues for the current year.
